As we wrap up another incredible year at Amber Waves, we want to take a moment to thank you for being a part of our vibrant community. Our Annual Appeal is underway and our goal is $250,000. Your support has been the heart of everything we do, and we are asking you to make a generous donation to help us reach our goal.
The sweat equity we have invested in building our soil health and growing nutritious food is a shining example of the positive change a farm can have on a community. You’ve known the gritty and exciting path that has taken the two of us from a single acre to a bustling vertically integrated farm and market on 33 acres. The long hours, complexity of building systems and teams, and the great responsibility of teaching apprentices (15 have started their own farms and food businesses!) has proved to be both challenging and rewarding.
To continue this important work we need your financial support. As you reflect on your relationship with the farm and your meaningful experiences here, please consider making a donation that will help us build on our successes, achieve our goals, and launch into next season to fund the programs that profoundly impact all of us.
Amber Waves Fun Facts for 2024:
- Trained 5 women farmers in the Apprenticeship Program, 11 women farmers returned to manage the apprentices and farm operations
- Grew 20,000 of pounds of food for our CSA members & community
- Welcomed more than 90,000 visitors onto the farm
- Taught more than 8,500 children in our outdoor classroom
- Donated more than $100,000 worth of product to our local food pantries
This year, we’ve continued our mission to connect people with food, farming, and each other. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to welcome more children to our educational programs, grow more organic produce, and host community events that celebrate the joys of the East End.
